Criminals in IMO on the run as Gov Okorocha blows hot, reads the Riot Act

Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, has reiterated the determination of his administration to make the state a haven for all through maximum security of lives and properties.
Apart from regular assistance to law enforcement agencies in the state with necessary logistics including modern security gadgets, he said that the state government would equally provide functional vehicles for them for easy and quick penetration of all nooks and crannies of the state.
The governor gave the reassurance when he formally commissioned 20 patrol vehicles and two motorcycles which he procured and handed over to the state police command in Owerri tagged, “Government House Security”. 

He stressed that the vehicles were specifically meant to beef up security at some specific areas within the Owerri Capital City which is fast becoming a tourist centre and a destination point for visitors and industrialists.
The governor who spoke through his chief of staff, Uche Nwosu commended officers and men of the state police command for their relentless efforts to rid the state of all classes of undesirable elements, noting that of recent, kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism and child trafficking have drastically reduced.
In his remarks earlier, the commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Okey Ezike stated that some officers and men of the command were recently trained abroad on security matters and had acquired special training and knowledge in their profession.
Ezike commended Governor Okorocha for his financial magnanimity to the police, noting that security is gradually becoming expensive hence the emphasis by the IGP on alternative sources of funding the police.
Ezike while assuring residents of the state of adequate security called for greater community participation in crime control and prevention, stressing that intelligence gathering is of paramount importance in this direction.
