As the Ozubulu Church massacre continue to generate discontent and condemnation among well-meaning Nigerians and receive global attention, the International Police has been urged to investigate the remote and immediate cause of the killings.
The Chairman of Odua Peoples Congress, Dr Federick Fasheun stated this while reacting bitterly to the shooting in St Philip Catholic Church last Sunday where scores of worshipers were killed.
Dr Fasheun said the act was not only barbaric but also outrageous which shows the height of insecurity of lives and property in Nigeria. Reacting further he said if there is an international connection to this act of callousness as being alleged by the Governor and the state Police boss, then the services of the International Police must be retained to ascertain the immediate and remote cause of the heinous crime.

He said: “The killing of these innocent worshippers is one incident too many. Happening in that serene rural environment, it demeans all Nigerians. It shows that nowhere in this country is safe. There is total breakdown of law and order in Nigeria as a whole.”

“Perpetrators must be speedily brought to book. If there is an international connection to this callousness, as Governor Willie Obiano and the Commissioner of Police have said, then the assistance of Interpol must be solicited to extradite those concerned back to Nigeria for investigation, prosecution and conviction.”
