We’re following Yakowa’s peace map in Kaduna – El-Rufai

The governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai yesterday said his administration has been able to maintain relative peace in the state because it builds on the peace map left behind by his late predecessor, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa.
The governor stated this during the centenary thanksgiving service held at First Baptist Church, Ahmadu Bello way Kaduna as part of activities marking the celebration of 100 years of Kaduna city.
Represented by his deputy, Arch. Bala Barnabas Bantex, the governor reminded the gathering that Lord Fredrick Lugard who marked Kaduna city in 1917 had a vision of a mega city for the state, and that the place names and streets of the city testifies to the fact that the state is home for all.
He said, “Kaduna is one of the most vibrant cities in Nigeria. Kaduna became a place of testimony for many Nigerians and Nigeria itself. Please join me in praying the almighty God to bless this city and those that live in it and prosper us all. Unfortunately, Kaduna has suffered a lot as regard its economy status since 1980s due to crises. The current administration has passed into law the master plan to restore the city. The centenary will help us to learn from the previous 100 years ahead of next 100 years.”
Earlier, the host, Reverend Banjo Ajao thanked the state government for making his church the venue of thanksgiving service, urging the government to improve on the security of lives and property of people in the state as a sure means of attracting more local and foreign investors to the state.
